To be the representative of BATFEL in the County / or the sub areas within a County assigned to the leaf co-operation project and ensuring the implementation of the agreed crop plans / recommendations in the project.
ii) Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required
1.Sound agronomic and communication skills to identify respond to and diagnose agronomic problem in the crop and appropriately advise solutions to give optimal productivity and quality.
2.Experience of international leaf quality standards and buying techniques to monitor tobacco quality with reference to international standards and requirements and ensure that buying is done in accordance with grade specifications.
3.People development skills to organise and supervise the training of Leaf Officer, CNTC staff and farmers.
4.Key skills will be communication, influence, negotiation, resource management and interpersonal skills to achieve optimal performance.
5.Experience of operating in and living in remote rural situations is pre-requisite.
6.Personal mobility, a pioneering spirit and good health are key attributes.
iii) Key Success Factors
1.Achieve the understanding by county and local CNTC, local government and the farmers of BAT's desired tobacco qualities and styles, and commitment to the techniques to produce these style.
2.Establish and maintain good relationship with CNTC and government recognised as CNTC's preferred business partner.
3.Implementation of the crop production plan through CNTC and local government as indicated by achievement of BAT quality and leaf production targets and motivation of farmers.
4.Successful implementation of farmer, CNTC staff and Leaf Offiecr's training programs to develop understanding of the crop requirements in the future.
5.Successful implementation of farmer buying and deliver from buying station to the receiving point near GLT.
